Upon clinical trials, the vaccine has been proven to be effective against the HPV 6, 11, 16, 18, 33, 35, 45, 52, and 58. Hence, it protects against both, the low-risk strains and high-risk strains.

It is reported to be nearly 100% effective. Even a single dose of vaccine has been shown to have reduced the rates of cervical cancer in young girls and women. The vaccine is given under national immunization programs and is expected to bring down the rates of cervical cancer significantly.
