Myths Related To HPV
Myths and misconceptions can seriously affect the social life of patients and even hamper the treatment process. Contrary to the common belief, HPV can infect even during safe, protected sexual intercourse, even in a monogamous relationship. Nearly 80% of all sexually active people get HPV during some time in their life, so having an HPV infection does not prove the stigma of casual sex related to it. It is also baseless to believe that having warts can lead to cervical cancer, as the two symptoms are caused by two different strains of virus.
