There are known pathological alterations present, which are distinctive to the immature skeleton of the knee especially in children and adolescents. Overuse of the knee might lead to the knee pain that only heals after resting for some time. The most obvious causes of knee pain and problems in younger patients are the stress injuries resulting from frequent use and excess stress on the knees. The incidence of knee problems is more apparent during growth spurts. Luckily, the symptoms of knee problem resolve on its own in younger patients after resting for a certain period.  The commonest site of knee pain is usually at the juncture of the patellar ligament with tibia and this condition is medically known as Osgood Schlatter’s disease. In the case of patients having Osgood Schlatter’s disease, there is pain in response to the frequent strain causing mild injuries in the knee. Another condition known as Sinding-Larsen-Johannson disease causes pain at the distal row of patella. However, both of these conditions respond positively to a non-operative therapy and there are less chances of severity in the patients.
