Posture and support
A good posture is equally important as reducing weight or maintains a healthy lifestyle. Certain measures that can help to reduce strain on your knee joints include;
- Sitting on a pillow or another comfortable support to raise your seating level
- Avoiding low couches and chairs that you “sink” into
- Maintaining a good sitting posture without leaning forward or slouching
- Avoiding shoes with broken arches as they can put abnormal force on the knee. Wearing supportive ones can help reduce strain on the ankles and knee
- Avoiding prolonged sitting, as it can reduce mobility by causing joint stiffness.
