PET
Positron emission tomography (PET) creates three or two dimensional scans of metabolic processes or blood flow. Studies suggest that the use of PET scanning helps in pointing out any nervous disorders which are implicating arthritic pain in a patient. The use of Magneto-encephalography (MEG), Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and PET scans are the most innovative imaging modalities, which help in unraveling the central pathways of pain leading to chronic pain in the knees.
