Spiral CT scan, also known as a low-dose helical CT scan, is a screening technique for early detection of cancer at the initial stages that can be curable. At least one spiral CT scan annually is recommended to the chronic smokers who are 55 to 80 years of age to reduce the chances of deaths by lung cancer.
