Contact to asbestos fibers

The individuals who work in the silicate industry are at major risk or asbestos exposure. These fibers can survive for the life-time in the lungs. The use of asbestos is prohibited in some countries including the USA. Exposure of asbestos causes inflammation of the abdominal cavity and lining of the lungs. Cancer is also related to the exposure of asbestos. The persons in contact with asbestos have a higher risk of developing the disease when accompanied by cigarette smoking. Asbestos workers who don’t smoke are five times more likely to develop lung cancer than nonsmokers.
