Rounded atelectasis
Rounded atelectasis, or commonly known as the folding of the lungs, refers to the partial collapsing of lungs. Persistent pleural thickening and pleural effusion leads to the partial collapse of the lungs and is a common respiratory complication among the mesothelioma patients. To address the root cause of this complication, several physical therapies or surgical procedures are of great help. Moreover, the studies also suggest that asbestos exposure causes 30% to 86% of mesothelioma patients who suffer from rounded atelectasis complications.
