Pneumonia and respiratory infections
The patients of pleural mesothelioma are at higher risk of developing pneumonia and infections of the respiratory system. The patients who undergo the surgical procedure are more prone to develop respiratory infections, and almost 2% of the pleural patients suffer from pneumonia. The doctors suggest the use of antivirals and antibiotics to treat respiratory infections and pneumonia.
