Most Common Symptoms Of Stomach Ulcers
15 Very Early Symptoms
Upper Abdominal Pain
A common symptom of peptic ulcers (both gastric and duodenal) is upper abdominal pain or discomfort. The pain tends to come and go, and often gets worse during the night hours. You can feel the pain between your navel and your breastbone. It is usually aggravated by an empty stomach.
The pain or discomfort with stomach ulcers is medically known as “dyspepsia.” It can last from a few minutes to several hours and can be alleviated by feeding, drinking milk, or taking antacid medicines. Eating, however, can make symptoms worse at times. Moreover, drinking milk can only be a temporary fix. Although it can rapidly improve symptoms, it may later increase acid production – thus worsen the symptoms after a few hours.
