Sun Exposure
In addition to sunburns, prolonged and intense sun exposure can increase a person’s risk of developing melanoma and other skin cancers. While research shows that staying safe in the sun, using sunscreen and wearing protective clothing can decrease the risk.
Avoid prolonged exposure and observe how the skin reacts to the light. Perform regular self-exams, and consult your dermatologists regularly to determine if something more serious could be a mark or mole.
