However, the researchers do not know what causes functional dyspepsia, but some researchers suggest that the following factors may play a role in functional dyspepsia:
- Overeating
- Gastroparesis
- Problems in the first part of your small intestine
- Psychological issues, especially anxiety
- Genes – a trait passed from parent to child
- Infection by microorganisms such as H. pylori, Salmonella, and E.coli.
