Low Blood Cells Counts

Changes in the number of blood cells is a very common symptom of multiple myeloma. The accumulation of cancerous cells in the bone marrow interferes with the normal production of blood cells that results in a decrease in their number in the blood. As different blood cells perform different functions in the body when their number decreases, it results in many complications. Due to a decrease in the production of red blood cells, anemia develops. Blood clotting is also affected due to the lack of blood clotting factors in the blood.
