This type affects boys mostly, and the muscles of the area affected in this type resemble Duchenne MD, however the symptoms of this type are less severe. Like Duchenne MD, in Becker muscular dystrophy, the risk of developing dilated cardiomyopathy and other breathing problems. Due to these types’ slower progression, the people with this condition usually have a normal lifespan.
