This type of muscular dystrophy involves several related conditions causing weakness in big muscles, including the muscles of arms and legs. The base of arms and legs around the shoulders and hip are affected. The symptoms include mobility problems and shoulder-girdle.
The person with limb-girdle experiences muscle weakness in thighs and arms. Back pain, loss of muscle mass, and irregular heartbeats are the symptoms of this disease. The muscle weakness can create multiple problems, including difficulty running, lifting objects, and even simple tasks. Some types of limb-girdle progress slowly while come develop rapidly.
