Congenital muscular dystrophy

As the name suggests the disease is present at the birth of the newborn. The disease progresses slowly and affects both males and females equally. Its two forms have been identified, Fukuyama and congenital. Both cause muscle weakness at birth or later in life. Its symptoms include severe contraction with shortening and shrinking of muscles. It can cause abnormality in the brain and even seizures.
