A physical therapist teaches different exercises to the child to maintain muscle and trunk strengths. They also perform different stretches, including gentle movement if legs and arms. Active stretches are taught to increase joint flexibility and delay the development of contractures. As the child grows, the therapist suggests other activate and games maintain heart health and avoid obesity risks. However, over-exercising can damage the muscles; therefore, the therapist needs to make sure that the person’s activities are not too strenuous.
