Unusual walking gait

Unusual walking gait

In the early period of disease progression gait changes can be observed in children. Walking fate disorder has seen to be more common in young boys. Gait is a person’s pattern of walking. Normally a child begins to walk between 8 to 15 months of age. The gait pattern changes as the age of the child increases. A mature gait pattern is developed when a child is of three years. However, muscular dystrophy causes weakness in the muscles, which grounds a waddling gait pattern, a wide-based gait with lumbar lordosis. The movement of the trunk is exaggerated and causes a waddling walk.
