Myasthenia gravis in its progressive stages can cause infections in the body. Although there is no proven link of a virus or any pathogen to myasthenia gravis but still there is appearance of infections in some patients. The surgical procedure of thymectomy and the immunosuppressive drugs can also elevate the risk of getting infections in the condition of myasthenia gravis.
