Menstrual cycle
Myasthenia gravis triggers before and during the menstrual period because it causes the increased production of acetylcholine receptors antibodies by influencing the immune system. The studies report that almost 67% of the women experience the triggering of myasthenia gravis during their menses. The clinical studies suggest that the hormonal variations during the menstrual cycle influence the activity of immune system to make antibodies against the acetylcholine receptors.
