Numbness and radiating pain

In some cases, pain does not stay the same, and you feel the painful sensation moving through an area of the body. That is called radiation, and it usually happens when a nerve is compressed. It feels similar to a sharp pain that initiates in the neck and then travels to your arm or another body part. In such cases, patients may also feel numbness or a tingling sensation in the neck, arms, trunk, or shoulder.

Pain upon movement: Patients with torticollis and other types of muscle-related pain will experience pain when trying to move their necks. This is associated with muscle tension; these patients usually sleep in awkward positions or suffer from chronic or very severe stress.
