Tenderness
Neck pain can also be prompted by manipulation of the area. When you don’t feel pain unless touching the area, this is called tenderness. You can also have neck pain and tenderness at the same time when pain increases when palpated. This is a likely sign of inflammation.
Headache: In some cases, patients may also experience a headache as a part of their symptoms. As noted above, pain can be radiated to the head, and the headache can also be related to nerve or blood vessel alterations.
