The most severe consequence of prediabetes is the development of diabetes type 2. Pre-Diabetes is linked with not known (silent) heart attacks and might harm your kidneys, even though you have not been progressing. Prediabetes does not have as such complications but if they left unchecked, it might form into diabetes type 2 that might then bring on serious complications. That is because of diabetes that might lead to:

  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Stroke
  • High cholesterol
  • Kidney disease
  • Amputations
  • Nerve damage
  • Eye damage
  • Sleep apnea
  • Neuropathy
  • Skin infections
  • Diabetes rash
  • Vision problem, probably lead to loss of vision

When lifestyle and diet interventions fail to gain a loss of 10 to 5 percent of the weight of the body, the pharmacologic agents approve the weight loss in the considering patients who are having BMI ≥ 30 kg/m².
