The body struggles to replenish the protein reserves when the dietary intake of protein is low thus increasing the appetite. An increase in appetite encourages you to grab something to eat. However, deficit in protein does not aimlessly urges one to eat but it might selectively elevate people’s appetite for salty and savory foods. The modern society foods offer unlimited access to high-caloric savory foods, none of them supply the body with enough protein. A majority of the convenience foods are considerably low in protein and offer higher amounts of calories thus leading to obesity and weight gain.
