Many people attain enough amount of protein. But it’s all about the right choices to make. Protein need for the rest of your body and muscles. Exactly how much you want changes by the age:

  • Babies require nearly 10 grams a day.
  • School-age kids require about 19-34 grams a day.
  • Teenage boys require more than 52 grams a day.
  • Teenage girls require 46 grams a day.
  • Adult men require about 56 grams a day.
  • Adult women require almost 6 grams a day (71 grams, if breastfeeding or pregnant)

You must get at least 10% of the daily calories, but do not exceed more than 35% of the level of protein according to the Institute of Medicine.
