Hand-foot syndrome
Hand-foot syndrome takes place in the body when sickle-shaped block blood vessels in the hands and feet. This condition causes the hands and feet to swell and can also cause leg ulcers. Furthermore, swollen hands and feet are the first sign of sickle cell anemia in newborns.
