Vision Problems
In cases of sickle cell anemia, blood vessels of the eyes get blocked by sickled cells and cause damage to the retina. This condition is known as retinopathy. As we know that the retina is a light-sensitive layer of cells, and it also captures the light coming into the eye, so it is also the major complication of sickle cell anemia.
Symptoms of retinopathy are:
- Blurred vision
- Floaters
- Vision blocked
- Reduced night vision
- Sudden vision loss
