Brain stem stroke

Brain stem stroke
Brain stem stroke

This is another type of stroke to accommodate attacks that do not occur in the brain strictly but in the brain stem. The brain stem is an important part that serves as a relay center for motor functions of the body and also controls breathing and consciousness. A clot in the blood supply to the brainstem region does not affect the body unilaterally but bi-laterally. There is the bilateral loss of muscle activity and in severe cases is called a locked-in syndrome. The acute symptoms are not particular as listed above. Dizziness, vertigo, and imbalance is more typical of this type.
