Life expectancy based on the type of stroke
According to a study [9] based on assessing the survival rates of the two major types of stroke, ischemic stroke patients have a better chance of survival than hemorrhagic stroke.
60% of ischemic stroke patients survived the first post-stroke year, 31% could make it to the five-year mark. However, in hemorrhagic stroke patients, 38% survived the first year and only 24% had a long-term survival report of five years.
