Thrombectomy
thrombectomy is an extensive intervening method that uses a guided catheter that is inserted through a large vessel in the leg or groin region. The catheter also has a clot-retrieval device that may be in the form of suction or a corkscrew. Reaching the point of the clogged vessel, the corkscrew rotates and pulls on the cot, dislodging it. Thus the tissue is revascularized. Here again, the treatment should set in without a delay. Before the initiation of treatment, brain scans help in locating the exact position of the clot and the catheter can then be directed to the spot.
