Low energy levels
Glucose, which is a type of sugar, is an important molecule that is converted to energy in our cells. Thus, it is curious to have low energy levels when blood glucose levels are high. The reason why people with diabetes have low energy levels is that their insulin levels are lower than normal. Insulin is the hormone that opens up the gates for glucose to enter the cells, and that’s why it’s accumulated in the outside. In other words, the glucose that should be inside the cells creating energy is instead outside the cell accumulated in the blood, and that’s why patients experience low energy levels.
