Early Symptoms of Thrombocytopenia
The majority of the people having low platelet count don’t seem to have any symptoms. The reason behind no symptoms is body already produces many platelets the body needs. Therefore even when the level of platelets drops a bit, the body does not face any problem. Symptoms start to occur when platelet count drops to a very low level. At the amount of platelet above 50,000, there will be no symptoms. At range from 30,000 to 50,000, bleeding can last a little longer, and bruise can appear more easily. At a level lower than 10,000, severe bleeding can occur along with many other symptoms. Some of the significant symptoms of thrombocytopenia include
Petechiae
Small, red, purple, and brown dots can be seen on the skin of the person suffering from thrombocytopenia. They may also look like a rash. These are the small round spots or lesions that appear on the skin as a result of internal bleeding. The people having ITP develop low blood count causes red and purple dots appear on the skin. The reason behind the formation of petechiae is that when tiny blood vessels called capillaries break, the blood starts to come out of them, and due to a shortage of platelets, clotting does not occur and blood leaks in the skin resulting information of these dots. They are associated with any kind of internal bleeding, including nose bleeds or blisters in the mouth, especially intra-dermal capillary bleeding. These spots can be easily be seen through the naked eye on the skin of the person suffering from ITP.
