Anemia
Excessive bleeding due to thrombocytopenia increases the risk of anemia. Even though anemia can have multiple medical causes, but it is a major complication that can occur due to thrombocytopenia. A person suffering from thrombocytopenia faces major blood loss, and this blood can seep inside the skin, which causes purpura and multiple bruises on the skin. Anemia can occur secondary to heavy menstrual bleeding or internal bleeding, which are the causes of thrombocytopenia.
