The sound pattern corresponds with the pulse of the patient or may be heard as a quick whooshing sound. Hypertension induced tinnitus is a manifestation of the anatomical layout of the vessel in and around the ears. Antihypertension medications are also a reason of this association; 44% of tinnitus patients are also found to be hypertensive. Some loop diuretics are ototoxic.
