Another morbid condition coupled with tinnitus is a headache. Tinnitus alters perception, and becomes a source of constant nuisance. Subjective tinnitus involves malfunctioning in the neural pathways, the same phenomena seems to give rise to headaches. Tinnitus-induced headache can be of different types. Migraines, especially migraine with aura, has an established relationship with tinnitus. Tension headaches and cluster headaches can also occur with tinnitus. Headaches can also be unilateral or bilateral and co-relate with the laterality of the tinnitus. A research shows that left-sided headaches have a higher chance of involving psychological symptoms.
