Eye pain
Eye pain is a rare symptom of pink eye. It occurs when conjunctivitis is not treated within time. Infection spreads to the surrounding structures and cause severe eye pain. The pain can be unilateral or bilateral. Often, eye pain is also due to irritation or inflammation of the front surface of the eye such as conjunctiva. Over the counter pain medications are enough for the relief of ocular pain. Treating the underlying infection or irritation should be the top most priority of the physician as it won’t go away completely without treatment of an underlying cause.
