Papillary conjunctivitis
It can also an important sign of pink eye among contact lens wearers. Giant papillary conjunctivitis (GPC) occurs as a result of an allergic reaction of the eye. It occurs when several small round papillae forms under the eyelid which is also called the upper tarsal conjunctiva.
These papillae forms as a result of tarsus rubbing over foreign substance in the eye. Giant papillary conjunctivitis is given the name because papillae formed on the are larger than 1 millimeter (mm) in size. Early stage symptoms of GPC include mild itching, redness of the eye and excessive mucus secretion by the eye.
