Excessive tearing
Excessive watering of eye occurs in viral conjunctivitis. Viral causes of pink eye involve adenovirus and parvovirus. If the watering eye is caused by infective conjunctivitis, the doctor may ask you to take few antibiotics to relieve the symptoms.
Excessive tearing is usually due to inflammation of the of the eye. This can also occur due to allergy and irritation. Excessive tearing can give the eyes a glassy look.
Watery eyes can be treated with warm compresses and certain medications to treat the underlying infection or inflammation. Anti-allergic eye drops are given to the patient to decrease allergic symptoms.
