Statistical data show that women are more prone to contract urinary tract infections due to shorter urethra. It essentially means the bacteria and other infection-causing organisms do not have to travel to the bladder to cause infection. However, men can also get UTI as well.
Studies and clinical data show that about half of women, irrespective of their age, will experience one or more episodes of UTI in their lives. Most women will have repeated infections. Many may have turned their into chronic urinary tract infection.
