Birth Control

Depending on the body type, many women may require different types of birth control. Studies have shown that certain varieties of birth control can lead to UTI. Diaphragms, for instance, are mostly used by women and are coated with spermicides. They are known to cause an infection in many women.

Spermicide acts like an antibiotic and can disrupt the natural pH of the vagina and kill the protective bacteria flora. Once the harmful bacteria are inside the vagina, they can very easily travel to the remote organs such as the bladder and kidneys. Studies have shown that condoms and spermicides can also increase the chances of Candida infections.
