High blood pressure is one of the most leading health disorders globally. According to a study, taking vitamin C supplement can help in relaxing the blood vessels that transport blood from the heart thus vitamin C helps in reducing blood pressure levels.

In addition, an analysis involving 29 human test subjects reveals that taking vitamin C supplement can reduce the systolic blood pressure by almost 3.8 mmHg and the diastolic blood pressure by 1.5 mmHg on an average in adults with no other diseases. In case of hypertensive adults, vitamin C supplementation can decrease the systolic blood pressure by 4.9 mmHg and the diastolic blood pressure by 1.7 mmHg. However, these study results are not always promising as it is not yet clear that how vitamin C influences on blood pressure levels. Furthermore, people having high blood pressure must not rely only on vitamin C for treatment.
