Cataracts have been classified on the basis of how they are formed and where they are formed. If classified on the basis of location of cataract in the lens, there are three major types of cataract.

Nuclear sclerotic cataracts

When the cataract develops in the center of the eye it is called nuclear cataracts. Nuclear sclerosis is a condition where the center of the eye lens starts to get dusty and bluish. When nuclear sclerosis worsens, it turns into nuclear cataract and blueish haze turns into yellow. Nuclear cataract is more common among women, brown eyes and diabetic patients. 13.1% people are diagnosed with nuclear cataract.
