Opt for an over-the-counter product with permethrin
Permethrin is an active ingredient in many over-the-counter anti-lice products. Permethrin’s work is much the same as pyrethrins to attack lice, although some reports show that lice become resistant to this product. Allergic reactions are also possible.
On shampooed (but not conditioned), damp hair, saturate your head with lotion. Leave for 10-15 minutes, wash and comb out nits. If any live lice appear after seven or more days of the initial treatment, you can repeat it.
