What Are Lice ? Types, How they spread, Treatment, Prevention and Takeaway

Use an over-the-counter product with pyrethrum or pyrethrins

Pyrethrum is an active ingredient in many anti-lice shampoos and some similar over-the-counter products. It comes from chrysanthemum flowers, which contain natural insecticides called pyrethrins. The pyrethrum attacks the nervous systems of active lice, but it doesn’t work for many people because their lice have become resistant to the product.

Usage: Apply product to dry hair, wait 10-15 minutes, add some water to form a lather and wash out—comb for nits. Repeat the method after 7 to 10 days to kill any live bugs that were left behind. Watch for allergic reactions.
