Although any woman of child-bearing age can get uterine fibroids but black women are at higher risk of developing fibroids than women of other racial groups. In addition, women of black ethnicity tend to have uterine fibroids at a much younger age than other women and they are also more likely to develop larger and higher number of fibroids. The symptoms of uterine fibroids are also more severe in black women in comparison to other women.
