While meningitis itself is a serious condition, it becomes quite dangerous when it enters the blood. This can happen in bacterial meningitis as invading bacteria can get into the bloodstream and cause multiple health complications like stroke, paralysis, sepsis, seizures, and even death. The professionals at WebMD also report some other symptoms as well that may emerge following the entrance of bacterial meningitis into the bloodstream. These include stomach cramps, skin rash, abnormal skin color, rapid breathing, and/or chills, ice-cold hands and feet, and muscle aches or joint pain.
