Acne – Complications
Pimples and zits caused by acne are not as big of a problem when compared to the scars they leave behind. The inflammation caused by pimple and zits results in acne scars. Sometimes the infected area becomes shallow or increases in size due to the ungoverned production of collagen and fiber. Acne has many serious complications. Acne isn’t a life threatening disease, but if it is left untreated, it leaves scars, which in the long run, become a cosmetic concern for many young ladies. Touching or disturbing your pimple can result in more serious scarring. There are three types of acne scars.
Atrophic scars
Sometimes the skin is not able to heal itself properly because of the disruptive production of connective tissues and the less collagen production which results in pitted or indented skin. In these cases, healing happens below the epidermis. These scars are flat. The pitted skin cannot heal over time and it does require a treatment. Soft-tissue fillers can be used for treating pitted skin and it shows immediate results.
