Glycolic acid
Glycolic acid is alpha hydroxyl acid often known as AHA. AHA are derived from plants and are water soluble. The major source from which glycolic acid is extracted is sugarcane. Glycolic acid works by breaking the glue which binds the dead skin together. It can be helpful for treating enlarged pores, and also for anti-aging and hyperpigmentation treatment. Glycolic acid also boosts collagen production, which helps in dealing with acne wounds. Glycolic acid should never be used during pregnancy. Using AHAs such as glycolic acid sometimes makes the skin sensitive to sunlight.
