Apparently the neurons suffer from impaired function due to the buildup of two proteins, i.e., tau and amyloid in the case of Alzheimer’s diseases. However, the buildup of protein in the nerve cells of the brain might also because the neurons to hyper-excite thus making them uncontrolled. The uncontrollably exciting neurons cause epileptic seizures in the Alzheimer’s patients and might lead to death if there is no immediate access to medical help. Almost 10 to 20 % of the Alzheimer’s patients suffer from unprovoked seizures at least once in their life.
