Down’s Syndrome
People who suffer from Down’s syndrome are at greater risk of getting Alzheimer’s disease at some point in their lives. The reason behind is the faulty genetic makeup that arises to down’s syndrome can also cause the accumulation of amyloid proteins in the brain thus forming amyloid plaques in different regions of the brain. The formation of amyloid plaques adversely affect the connection between brain cells and makes them loss their function with time.
